Icelandic-born and Brooklyn-based musician and designer Halli Civelek drops his first official release as Wanton Boys Club. Single 'You Are OK & The Mandarin' is a bouncy, space-disco epic with nods to italo disco and early 90's house. The single also recalls the disco funk of acts like Eddie Grant and Lipps Inc with its delicately jittery instrumentation.
Full of gloriously constructed synths and an immersive funk groove, you can easily get lost in Civelek's music. The project strikes an inescapably playful tone and its precise percussion and classic electro-disco style arpeggiated synths are mesmeric and full of life.
